About Prof. Dr. Turgay Çelikel

     After I completed my high school education in Ankara TED College, I graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1978. Prior to my graduation from Hacettepe University, I started my residency education on internal diseases in the same hospital. 1 year later I continued my residency education in internal diseases in Chicago's densest and hardest hospital Cook County Hospital and completed it in 1982. I continued my residency education on pulmonary diseases and critical care between 1982-1984. I progressed my studies on lung cancer in the world's no.1 cancer tratment center MD Anderson at Houston between 1984-1985. I hold certificates of Diplomate of Internal Medicine and Diplomate of Pulmonary Medicine Board from USA.

     I returned to Turkey in 1985 and completed my military service at Ankara GATA Oncology department. In 1987 I started working as a faculty member of interior diseases at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. I established lung diseases and critical care departments in Marmara University Hospital. I served as head of department in these departments for 25 years. I still continue working as a faculty member in Marmara University Faculty of Medicine.
